- 125 grams Butter, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 185 grams castor sugar
- 2 eggs
- 185 grams Self Raising Flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 125 grams Milk

TM 5Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
Add butter, sugar and vanilla essence to the mixing bowl and mix for 30 seconds / speed 4.
Add eggs, mix 10 seconds / speed 4. Scrap down the sides of the mixing bowl.
Add self raising flour, baking powder and milk and mix for 15 seconds / speed 4. Scrap down the sides of the bowl and mix for 5 seconds / speed 4.
Line and grease a 20cm cake pan or line a 12 hole muffin tin with papers.
Pour mixture into prepared cake tin or cupcakes. Bake until golden as below:
20cm Cake tin - bake for approx 30 minutes
Cupcakes - bake for approx 20 minutes
Ice with the icing of your choice
