Easy Gingerbread



Easy Gingerbread

  • 90 grams brown sugar
  • 375 grams plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 125 grams Butter
  • 230 grams golden syrup

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees
  2. Add 90g of brown sugar to the bowl
  3. Add 375g of plain flour to the bowl
  4. Add 2tsps of ground ginger to the bowl
  5. Add 1tsp of bicarbonate of soda to the bowl
  6. Mix 10 seconds, speed 5
  7. Add 125g butter to the bowl
  8. Add 230g golden syrup to the bowl
  9. Mix 30 seconds, speed 5 until a dough forms
  10. Scrape sides of bowl
  11. Mix for 10 seconds, speed 5
  12. Wrap dough in thermomat and refrigerate for 30-60 minutes
  13. Roll dough out to approximately 6-8mm thick and cut shapes out. Alternatively make into a gingerbread house using the silicone mould from The Mix Shop
  14. Bake for 8-12 minutes or until golden brown depending on preferred firmness
  15. Allow pieces to completely cool before icing with royal icing

Gingerbread can be frozen after baking.
