For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Tip

Keeps for about 3 days.

I first started making this to use up all the nibbled apples in my fridge from my toddler.

Just chop those bits off to make up about 3 apples worth from several apples

I love how easy this recipe is. Doesn't need the sugar but does need the 1/2cup of milk.

Just made this without the sugar because it's for myself and my toddler. Added the 1/2 cup of milk as suggested by some and it's delicious. No sugar needed. tmrc_emoticons.)

  • This does indeed live up to

    Submitted by Peacock's Kitchen on 10. August 2015 - 11:54.

This does indeed live up to it's name.  Very quick and easy.  I added a crumble topping to it and it was loved by all.  I also made it gluten free by using GF flour and dairy free by using dairy free margarine instead of butter.

    Oooh yummy!

Indeed quick and easy.... took longer for my oven to preheat than it did for me to make!

I found this more of a cake than a slice but its still lovely - nice and light and not too sweet. Thank you!

This was delicious, and dangerously easy! Next time I'll consider adding in a handful of walnuts and sultanas too. I didn't have self raising flour so just added 2.5 teaspoons of baking powder...did the trick

Oops, or you could not read the part when you are supposed to take the chopped apples out before adding the remaining ingredients and just do all the mixing on reverse and it's even quicker!!!
