Dough

  • 450 g Self Raising Flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 100 g Butter, at room temperature
  • 250 g Milk
  • 60 g thickened cream

Filling

  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 100 g Butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 50 g walnuts

  • Milk, for brushing
  • golden syrup, to serve

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 200C/180C fan forced.  Line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. Dough
  3. Place flour, cinnamon, butter, milk and cream into bowl combined 6secs/speed 6. Knead 2 mins/Closed lid/Dough mode. Turn out onto lightly floured Thermomat and roll into 25 x 35cm rectangle.

  4. Filling
  5. To a clean bowl add walnuts Closed lid/1 sec/turbo and set aside. Add sugar, butter and vanilla mix 5 sec/speed 7. Scrap down side and mix again 5 sec/speed 7. Spread over dough leaving a 5mm border. Sprinkle over walnuts and roll length ways to enclose filling. Cut crossway into 2cm thick pieces.

  6. Place pieces 1cm apart on prepared tray and bake for 20 minutes until golden. Cool on tray. Serve with a drizzle of golden syrup.
