Tip

These are now my favourite muffins...they taste amazing..

Try them warm from the oven, split and buttered. Or warm and smothered in custard..

They also freeze well..

Made these at the weekend and halved the sugar. Didnt think the 7 and 4 year old would've liked them because of the lack of sugar.
They scoffed them, so a win win hereCooking 7

Incredibly simple, quick and easy recipe. Great flavour and texture. Used buttermilk instead of yogurt as none to hand, also reduced sugar only because I am reducing my overall sugar intake for better health. Will be making these again for sure!

    BAKING NOW

I have a batch of these in the oven, very quick and easy to make and smell delish whilst cooking so I no doubt think they will taste great.

Really yummy and fluffy. I reduced the sugar and omitted it from the top. I also didn't have a whole orange only freshly squeezed juice I had kept from the day before. I didn't set aside the date and sugar mixture after mixing, I just added the butter straight afterwards mixed, then added the juice. Turned out great!

I reduced the sugar by half and omitted sugar on top. DELICIOUS. This will be a regular lunch box muffin.

  • Lovely taste and textured

Lovely taste and textured muffins.   Mine were slightly bitter from the orange peel which was quite nice  I substituted bran for some of the flour to increase the fibre content and that worked well as I added a bit more milk.   Thank you for the recipe
