Newyork Style Bagels

  • 315 grams water
  • 3 tsp dry yeast
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 500 grams Plain Flour/ Bakers Flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add water. Heat 2 min 37degrees sp 2. 

  2. Add yeast and sugar. Do not mix, leave for 5 min. 

  3. Add flour and salt. Knead 10 min.

  4. Put into breadmat, spray lightly with oil. Wrap and leave for 1 hour. After 40 min fill jug with 1 ltr of water. Varoma sp2 20 min. (just to get it up to temp before puting the bagels in)

  5. Roll into Balls, flatten slightly. Poke hole in middle with finger, move finger in a cirlce to make hole larger. Lay in the varoma and varoma tray. Cook Varoma 12 minutes sp 2.

  6. Top with egg wash, and toppings of choice (I used garlic, sesame seeds and cracked salt). Bake 25 min in 200 degree oven. 


Accessories you need



Serve warm, or toast leftovers with cream cheese.
