custard powder

  • 1/2 skin of a small kaffir lime, as little pith as possible
  • 70 gram raw sugar
  • 30 grams Corn Flour (GF)
  • 15 grams desicated or fresh coconut

  • 500 grams Milk, full cream semi skim or oat work best

Recipe's preparation

  1. Describe the preparation steps of your recipe

  2. Mill kaffir lime peel, raw sugar, corn flour and coconut 10 seconds speed 10.

    Add eggs and milk and cook 7 mins 90 degrees speed 4

    serve hot or cold, garnish with kaffir lime zest and coconut shavings

    This turned out really great! Would add a bit more coconut next time to give it more coconut flavour tmrc_emoticons.) yum!!

  • We recently made this at demo

    We recently made this at demo using coconut sugar  instead of raw sugar, it was delicious and had a caramel flavour.  (we also used peel of a normal lime as didnt have Kaffir lime and that still worked really well.)

    sorry raspberryz for the confusion, Yes, i did mean corn flour, as the corn flour, sugar, kaffir lime and coconut make the custard powder. tmrc_emoticons.8)

    I don't think she meant to type custard powder, she meant the conrflour. As in, 'Make the custard powder by milling the kaffir zest, sugar, cornflour and coconut on speed 10 for 10 seconds.'  That's what worked for me
