For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation
- Weigh rice into simmering basket. Rinse well under cold water. Add to mixing bowl. Pour milk into mixing bowl. Cook 35 mins/90 degrees/speed 1.5 on reverse, or until rice is tender and cooked to your liking.
Drain crushed pinapple in your simmering basket then add to bowl. Add vanilla. At this point you can add sugar if you wish (see tips). Mix 30 secs/speed 3 on reverse.
Serve either hot or cold, dust with cinnamon and enjoy!

Tip
Add 60g castor sugar with the pineapple and vanilla if you prefer a sweeter dessert.
Another varation to try is to whip 300g of cream (refer to recipe on Cookidoo) and fold through at the end. Serve chilled.
