Weetbix and Date Slice
- 250 g sugar
- 250 g Self Raising Flour
- 90 g Butter
- 1 egg
- 225 g pitted dates
- 250 g Boiling water
- 4 pieces Weet-Bix, Crushed
- 120 g walnuts, Can leave out if nut free
- 1 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
- icing sugar, to dust

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation
- 1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius
2. Grease a 20 x 20cm square slice tray
3. Melt butter 90 degrees 1 min 30 sec Speed 1
4. Add boiled water and chop dates 10 sec Speed 8. Scrape down sides of bowl
5. Add all other ingredients. Mix 10 sec Speed 4
6. Put in pan - press down with fingers
7. Bake for 30 minutes
8. Leave in pan for 5 minutes before transferring to wire rack to cool
9. Dust with icing sugar
10. Enjoy!
