Recipe's preparation

  1. Add garlic, ginger, onion, corriander, cumin, tumeric, chilli flakes and 80g water to TMX bowl. Cook on speed 2, 100 degrees, 2 minutes.

Add stock, water and tomato paste. Cook on speed 2, 100 degrees, 7 minutes or until boiling.

Add steak. Cook on reverse, speed spoon, 100 degrees, 30 minutes, MC ON.

After this cooking time, cook for a further 20 minutes, reverse, speed spoon, VAROMA temp, MC OFF *** this is to reduce the sauce so its nice and thick! Watch it closely, at 20 minutes check to see if the meat is tender and there is still a small amount of gravy left tmrc_emoticons.)tmrc_emoticons.-)Smile It is not a saucy curry but you dont want the beef to abdorb all of the liquid

    Serve with cauli rice tmrc_emoticons.)tmrc_emoticons.-)Smile

I 100% failed this recipie. Not sure how / why! It was very very runny, as in lots of liquid and my meat was tough. Possible the type of meat I got. But chuck normally works well for me. I gave rating for how yummy it smells

I made this last night and it was perfect. The beauty of it is that most of the items are pantry items so it is an easy meal to make. I did however, add a bit of a cornflour mix towards the end because mine didn't seem to thicken up much. I used casserole steak which turned out nice as well. Will definitely make this again.

This went down a treat with my husband as there wasn't too much liquid in it. He said it tasted just like the Indian restaurants make it. It was easy and delicious!

I also cannot believe how rude the comment was.

I have not cooked this recipe as yet but will in the next couple of weeks as sounds delicious.

I have cooked quite a few of recipes in the community and if I find they are too watery or too bland I just adjust the recipe to my taste.

Bila: Can I ask how you would feel if you got this sort of feedback on a recipe that you submitted? Especially when all of your other reviews were positive? There is no need to be so rude. State that it wasn't your taste and where it failed for you (ever think this might be something you did by the way), but dont be so horrible.

For me, this was a little bland but that's probably because I didn't add chilli due to the kids.

  • Brilliant. Made with real

Submitted by Lexi Gypsy Dreamer on 12. September 2016 - 22:50.

Brilliant. Made with real onion, garlic, ginger and the TMX Vegetable stock (as I had ran out of Beef Stock) and the kids absolutely loved it, they never eat anything...so that's saying something. We added the chilli flakes to our own (as the children don't handle the heat) and it was delicious! Adding this to our Family favs.

  • Absolute rubbish. Tastes

    Submitted by Bila on 12. June 2016 - 07:25.

Absolute rubbish. Tastes awful, grainy and watery... I know... I can keep boiling it to thicken the sauce. The shame of it all is I'm cooking it for a crowd. Made the skinnymixers butter chicken before so thought this would be as delicious especially With all the ratings. The upside is I made the butter chicken as well. Can't feed this to anyone, will have to start from scratch and make a different Madras recipe and possibly move the 4 kilos of meat across. Can't believe others gave this such high ratings. It tastes like dirty grainy water. Blekh!!!

    LOVED IT!

Used 1 onion, small amount of ginger and one clove of garlic instead of using powdered ingredients. Mine thickened up well with the MC off as per last step.

    Thanks for the recipe tmrc_emoticons.)

    Submitted by Elenikat on 29. February 2016 - 21:15.

Made this tonight, it was so so. Quick , easy but lacked flavour. Would have preferred to use "real"  onions, garlic , ginger. Too much liquid, lacked thickness and was floury in texture. Will try again  as the kids loved it.

i didn't mind this recipe. However after the 50 mins of cooking it the flavour had almost disappeared. The meat was tender and fell to bits in my mouth.

    Was still quite Watery also.

  • Just fabulous. Really easy

    Submitted by Nate's Mum on 25. August 2015 - 20:43.

Just fabulous. Really easy and so tasty. I added a large potato at the beginning and bulked the meat (only had 450g) with a carrot and (at final 20 min) a courgette. The potato disintegrated but made the sauce thick, so that worked well. I added 420g of water as per comments and thought the first 80g was part of the 500g? I put in a tbl of stock concentrate and a 'real' beef stock gel packet which was perhaps a tad salty. Will definately make again. Thank you so much for posting. tmrc_emoticons.)

    Submitted by meganzig on 6. July 2015 - 14:49.

Just delicious! I used real onion and garlic and threw in some spinach in the thermoserver at the end with the beef while I was making the cauliflower rice. I only had about 500gm of beef and found it needed about an  extra 10 mins to thicken the sauce with a bit of added cornflour. Was even better the next day as leftovers!

    Submitted by DLFraser on 3. April 2015 - 14:56.

Delicious, I didn't have quite as much meat so just reduced the water amount a bit but kept all other measurements the same. I did the last 20 mins as 15 & 5 just to keep an eye on the thickness of the sauce but still required the full 20 mins. Will definitely be doing this one again

Died and gone to heaven. Love

This is a go to recipe for me now...

Might even dream about this ...

Have done it with rump and chuck steak. The chuck steak understandably was more robust but not in the least bit chewy...think I like it even more than with the rump.

Submitted by van der Ploeg on 19. February 2015 - 11:01.

This is a great recipe if you are relying on pantry staples but I found it had a bit of a powdery after taste. I would prefer to use real onion, garlic, ginger and tomatoes. Loved the idea of cauliflower rice. First time I've made it and really enjoyable.
