  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 --- brown onion, peeled & quartered
  • 20 grams olive oil
  • 500 grams Casserole Steak (Gravy Beef, Chuck or Rump Steak, dices into 2-3cm cubes
  • 1.5 tablespoons plain flour
  • 20 grams Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 carrots, peeled & sliced
  • 120 grams water
  • 1 level tablespoon TM beef stock concentrate
  • 50 grams Tomato Pizza Sauce with herbs
  • 2 bay leaf
  • 200 grams mushrooms, chopped and sliced

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

    METHOD
  1. 1.Chop garlic and onion in TM for 3 secs on Speed 7.

    2.Add olive oil and saute for 4 mins at 100°C on Counter-clockwise operationSpeedGentle stir setting. MC off.

    3. Add diced meat and cook for 7 mins at 100°C on
    Counter-clockwise operation SpeedGentle stir setting. MC off.

    4. Add flour and cook for 1 min on 100°C on Counter-clockwise operationSpeedGentle stir setting.

    5. Add worcestershire sauce and cook for 2 min on 100°C on Counter-clockwise operationSpeedGentle stir setting.

    6. Add carrot, mushrooms, TM beef stock concentrate, water, and tomato pizza sauce with herbs and bay leaf. Cook for
    35 mins at 98°C. MC on. Counter-clockwise operationSpeedGentle stir setting.


    Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.

    Serve with your choice of mashed potatoes, rice or crusty bread rolls
