  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 carrots
  • 4 bacon rashes
  • 1000 grams gravy beef
  • 3 leaves bay leaves
  • 1 level tablespoon stock
  • 100 grams red wine - can be left out
  • 50 grams Worcestershire sauce
  • 200 grams tomato puree
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
  • 100 grams tomato paste
  • 1 bunch herbs like oregano or basil

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add carrots and celery to bowl and chop speed 5 for 2 seconds then set aside
    add onion and garlic to bowl and chop speed 5 for 3 seconds.
    Add bacon, 20g oil and celery/carrot mix and cook for 10mins on varoma and reveerse speed 1.
    Add all remaining ingredients to bowl and cook further 45mins at 100g on reverse speed 1.
    Cook for further 15mins on varoma temp and speed 1 with basket on top in place of MC.
    Serve with pasta or mashed veggies.
