Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Tip
I premill all my own dry spices in the Thermomix this gives all your food AMAZING flavours.
When using mince meat from the shop, be careful using the low fat mince some of these are minced up really fine & constant stiring can give it a weird texture. you can always put the mince into the basket so it still cooks in the sauce but it is away from the blades.
Serve with rice & natural yoghurt.
For a Chilli Con Carne with less liquid use only 400g tomatoes - it's great to go with tacos or corn chips or in buritos with salad & my Thermie Green Avocado Dip.

This has our families tick!! My two girls - 4 and 5, have said this is their favourite. We normally have this one night with corn chips, sour cream, cheese and avocado and then left overs with rice another day through the week. So good!

Delicious! Simple straight forward recipe that tasted great - made mine with pork mince instead of beef, and turned it into a baked burritos! Yum

Just finished making this. My kitchen smells so nice! I bought steak strips (like stir fry style so it's is maybe topside) & turbo x 3 to make my own mince & it didn't have the dry grainy texture of mince cooked in the thermomix. It has the texture of shredded beef but very fine.
I didn't have the smoked chilli so only added 2 red chillies with seeds & it just has a mild heat to it. Fine for me but my husband will add dried chilli to spice his up.
Going to serve with sour cream, avocado & corn chips. Perfect for a Friday night 😀

This recipe must have some sort of magic in it. I thought it was nice but my three young children all sat quietly and ate this and asked for more. Mr 5 said, "Mum look how much I ate, that was really yum!" Thank you https://www.recipecommunity.com.au/user/41733. I will definitely be looking up more of your recipes.

We often make chilli con carne in our household with our own cow's mince, it makes an easy meal. Hubby said this one was his favourite ever especially after it had been frozen and he took it for lunch. Thanks, loved by the family including our toddler.

Oh my gosh!! When I was cooking this I was sure my kids would not eat it but I served it up with corn chips and grated cheese and from the three of them two said it's their favorite meal ever. The third loved it too thank you for a wonderful dish!!!!

This is a regular on our family food plan. We dont used sun dried tomatoes or chocolate...I may sneak in a few more of the herbs/sices but the best chilli con carne ever!!
Holy Moly, this is the best
Holy Moly, this is the best new recipe I have cooked in the thermomix for a long time.
I took note of the tips and used fresh tomato - not canned, and just 400gms.This was not too watery at all.
I served this over jacket potatoes, we have so much left over - will be tomorrows breakfast with a poached egg on top, YUM!!
The flavour is delicious - the cocoa adds a beautiful layer of complexity. What a delicious dish.
THANK YOU!!
Wow Wow! I thought this
Wow Wow! I thought this recipe was to die for! I put mince turkey meat in the simmering basket, and just broke it up every now and again through the top while cooking, and it worked perfectly! I dumped the meat into the bowl when it was time to put the beans in, and that did a great job of breaking up the rest of the meat. I put one tin of 400g diced tomatoes in and thought that was a perfect consistency, I only put in 25g sundried tomatoes. I also topped with corriander because I can't ever get enough! Thank you so much
Great recipe thank you. I
Great recipe thank you. I didn't use the sundried tomatoes as other half doesn't like them. Was still delicious.

Thanks for your feedback, I'm so sorry the recipe was not a success for you: I have updated the tip section on cooking with mince meat in the Thermomix, hopefully this may help you with other recipes too.
Also I am guessing you went with the 800g option of tomatoes? You can always add more tomato paste to thicken it up or use 400g tomatoes instead. As per the notes it tastes so much better if you mill your own spices too.

Chose this recipe for its
Chose this recipe for its high rating when friends came over for Mexican feast. Unfortunately, this was the worst dish on the table and I was very embarassed. I followed the recipe exactly (minus the optional cocoa). Even though the blades are in reverse, the mince was completely obliterated. Not only that, but the end product tasted like I hadn't put mince in at all. It was mildly tomato flavoured, cinnamon laced, watery slop. I appreciate that this recipe is really well written, however the end product did not meet the current rating at all.
Made this using kangaroo
Made this using kangaroo mince instead of beef & it was really yummy. Also only used 400g tomatoes, a tad watery, would strain off the tomatoes first next time. Many thanks for a great recipe.
This has become my go to
This has become my go to recipe..... I use only one can of tomatoes and sometimes need to add a little more salt at the end, but it tastes great, the cacao/dark choc really gives it the edge over the other recipes I have tried

I made this with just one can of tomatos but it was still a little on the runny side. Tasted great though!
Was this meant to be made

Loved this! I didn't use any sun-dried tomatos, fresh chilli or capsicum (but did include some smoked paprika with the dry spices, which I forgot to toast) and it was still amazing! Excellent for helping you get in your daily quota of veggies, especially if you add in some avocado/guacamole

My family loved this. I loved
My family loved this. I loved all the fresh ingredients. only used 400g tomatoes and that was perfect. Put the mince in as a big lump - rookie error! It still cooked but was difficult to try and mix everything together manually afterwards - will definitely break it up a bit more next time! yiur avocado dip was so amazing on top - perfect together. Thanks for a lovely recipe

This is blumming lovely, I used a full chilli and chilli flakes as we like a little heat, used one tin of tomatoes, the flavours were lovely. Will be having again tomorrow - the recipe will feed a family of 4 - 2 nights. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.

hi this is the first mince
hi this is the first mince dish I have cooked in the thermo. I am new to the thermo. I found it tasted really nice but was way too runny and the meat was pulverized. I followed the recipe to the tee. Any suggestions welcomed.
