CHINESE STICKY STYLE MEATBALLS
- 450 grams chicken mince
- 1 --- egg
- 1 level tablespoon dried onion flakes
- 1 pinch Himalayan salt
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 25 grams panko breadcrumbs
- 8 heaped tablespoons tomato sauce
- 2 heaped tablespoons honey
- 2 level tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 level tablespoon tamari
- 50 grams water

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation
- 1. Add mince, egg, onion flakes, salt, pepper amd panko crumbs, and mix for 10sec, Speed 5.
2. In a medium baking dish, mix remaining ingredients together.
Thoroughly stir the ingredients in the dish until well combined.
3. Roll the meat mix into balls and place into the baking dish with the sauce. Stir gently to coat, and bake in a 200C for approximately 20 mins, basting frequently, until cooked and the sauce has become sticky.
4. If you decide to have steamed rice with this meal then rinse out the thermomix and steam the rice in the simmering basket while the meatballs are in the oven cooking.

Tip
I have doubled the sauce quantities as we like to have steamed rice with the meatballs and this allows enough of the sauce to go with it.
I have also tried this recipe using turkey mince, pork mince and beef mince. All work well.
