    This recipe is amazing!

Simple, little to no effort and cooked quickly. Could even use it as pie filling! Served with Naan bread & steamed vege.

Also made the Kasundi linked at the bottom of the recipe - also amazing and worth making!

Really yummy and super easy to make.  Not to mention so much healthier than your standard butter chicken recipe.  I actually made my own coconut cream for this from shredded coconut, check out the recipe here >>> http://thermofun.com/thermofun-coconut-milk-coconut-cream-recipe/

Submitted by Viking Girl on 14. July 2016 - 03:13.

Wow! Out of necessity i had to make a lot of substitutions as i steadily realised i lacked half of the ingredients...no ginger, no tumeric, no kasundi and worse, no coconut milk. I added regular milk instead and added a handful of dessicated coconut, a teaspoon of sweet chili sauce and it turned out amazing!!

Too bad i had no rice to eat it with!

i was too worried about it being overpowering so didnt add the kasunda, i should of as it was bland without it. im going to give this one another go as it was all there just missing the taste.  i also used more meat as we like meaty dishes and that was great

    Submitted by wrong on 25. February 2016 - 00:57.

Yum and much healthier than the artery clogging version supplied in the thermomix cookbook. Added half an eggplant that was festering in the fridge and it thickened out the sauce beautifully. Made the kasundi too - heed the other warnings to reduce the chilli powder. I used 1 tablespoon of chilli powder and it is still too hot to handle.

Absolutely delish. Highly recommend making the kusundi.. We also use it on our sandwhiches so it doesn't go to waste.. Also the recipe says to add sugar but its not in ingredient list? Not sure if they mean honey or the recipe has been changed. Anyway I didn't use either in mine.

    Submitted by Bella67 on 6. September 2014 - 20:47.

I made the kasundi first which was a hit, loved this much more than the EDC  butter chicken recipe which just didn't gel for me. I cooked the chicken longer as found mine wasn't cooked enough and served with rice. Have made several times a favourite! have to make the cauliflower rice! Made this after a girlfriend recommended as a staple in her family meals.

    Submitted by jecarrick on 13. August 2014 - 18:07.

This was really tasty, and really fast and easy to make.  And so much better for you than regular butter chicken!  I made the kasundi using the above recipe and I'm glad I made the effort, the flavour in this dish was amazing.  I only had coconut milk so had to use that instead of the cream and as a result the sauce was a little runny but still really good.  Also just used olive oil instead of coconut oil.  Will definitely be making this regularly.  Has anyone tried this with chicken breast instead of thigh?
