Curried Sausages & Rice

Ingredients

6 portion(s)

Curried Sausages

  • 1 litre water
  • 2 Cups of White Rice
  • 500 g thin sausages
  • 200 g Celery, Chopped
  • 2 carrots, Chopped
  • 1 brown onion, Halved
  • 20 g olive oil
  • 500 g skim milk, or Full Cream, Coconut Soy, Almond Milk
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 1 sachet Campbells Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 1 piece Greaseproof Paper

Recipe's preparation

    Method
  1. Add water to Bowl

  2. Insert TM Basket and add Rice

  3. Add Sausages on to top of Varoma tray with grease proof paper underneath 

    Add Celery and Carrot to bottom tray.

    Remove MC and place Varoma on top of Bowl

  4. Varoma Heat setting, 25 Minutes, Speed 3

  5. Remove Rice and drain, reserve in Thermoserver and set aside

    Empty bowl of leftover water

    Cut Sausages into 2cm size pieces and set aside with Veggies

    I leave in the Varoma till ready to add to sauce

  6. Add halved Onion and chop 3 Seconds, Speed 6

  7. Add Oil and simmer 100 Degrees, 2 Minutes, Speed 1

  8. Insert Butterfly and add Curry Powder, Soup Mix and Milk

    Counter-clockwise operationSpeed 3 for 20 Seconds

  9. Add Sausages and Vegies

    Cook Counter-clockwise operation Speed 1.5, 110 Degrees for 10 Minutes

  10. Serve on top of Reserved Rice

  11. Enjoy

Tip

This can be done with Sausage, Chicken Tenderloins and prawns.

    This was a delicious meal. Used vegetarian sausages and a can of tomatoes and a can of coconut milk. No packets of soup. I added a teaspoon of chilli powder with the onion and some garlic and I added some fresh mushrooms in the last 10 minutes.

    Lovely recipe but found my sausages were totally mashed up even with using butterfly so I just kept them aside in the final step And added to sauce when it finished cooking.

    In the soup aisle there are packets of pwdered soup mix. Its by campbells. Its usually located on the bottom row in the woolies soup aisle. I have also used my vegetable soup concentrate with about 1-2 Tablespoons of cornflour.

    OMG this was devine. Can not believe how easy it was and saved so much mucking around and washing up.

    Love that I can use it for chicken and prawns too.
