A big hit with hubby and myself. Will be a regular on our menu. I added a small zucchini to meatball mix and extra breadcrumbs to compensate for added moisture. I didn't have 1kg fresh tomatoes so used 800g tinned and omitted sugar and still turned out alright. Thank you for sharing.

We grew up with Kangaroo Patties and our family recipe was close to yours - we also had carrot and herbs.  I've been given some wallaby mince so making your method for a change.  Thanks.

  • This was a great dish! To

Submitted by Tess Hardman on 5. July 2013 - 19:14.

This was a great dish! To increase the veggies I threw in a handful of mushrooms and some capsicum at the start plus some fresh parsley. I cut the sugar down to 10g and vinegar to 5g. Popped in some peas for the last few minutes. I served with rice instead of pasta. Yum, thank you!

  • I scrapped the sugar

Submitted by kathy ehmann on 14. May 2013 - 19:18.

I scrapped the sugar altogether after reading earlier comments.  I was too lazy to get the bread crumbs out of the freezer so i used almond meal instead.  A revelation!  I like it.

  • The meatballs were good. Even

    Submitted by rhyme on 30. April 2013 - 08:02.

The meatballs were good. Even with the extra ten minutes, the tomatoes were soup rather than sauce, and bizzarely sweet. Not having made this before, I used the suggested amount of sugar. If I had to make it again, I'd try about 1/3 of that, along with less vinegar and lots more herbs.

  • I have just set this going in

    Submitted by leece on 11. April 2013 - 20:10.

I have just set this going in my TM31! It's looking really good. Pretty much followed the recipe except I put some Italian Herbs in the kangaroo meat balls, and some chilli sauce in the sauce instead of flakes. Gee it smells nice, and I bet it's going to taste awesome too. Thank you for sharing the recipe!

  • Made it in my TM21, turned

Submitted by Chook Chook on 4. January 2013 - 21:59.

Made it in my TM21, turned out great.  Reduced the sugar to about 20-30g, and used about 1tbn veg stock powder.  Will add carrots & capsicum to meatballs, and capsicum & mushroom to sauce next time.  Used beef instead of kangaroo.

  • A fantastic dish! We made

Submitted by Erica Noble on 19. November 2012 - 09:52.

A fantastic dish! We made this last night for dinner with lamb mince. Didn't have any bacon but still tasted awesome. We also significanlty reduced the sugar in the sauce to suit our tastes. Quick, healthy, yummy. Thanks!
