Recipe's preparation

    Lemon and Ginger Steamed Chicken
  1. Add 900g water to the TM bowl.

Add rice to basket, rinse and place basket into TM bowl.

Cut each chicken breast into 3-4 pieces, so the pieces are roughly the same thickness for even cooking.

Place chicken into Varoma Tray. Place lemon and ginger slices on top of chicken.

Cook for 14 minutes, Varoma Temperature, speed 4. You may need to vary the time according to how your chicken is cooking.

If rice is cooked, remove to Thermoserver to keep warm.

Add chopped vegetables to the Varoma Dish. Cook a further 5 mins on Varoma Temperature, speed 4.

While the vegetables are cooking, mix 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce with 2 tablespoons of honey in a small bowl.

Spoon the sauce over the chicken to serve.

  • I love a Thermomix recipe

I love a Thermomix recipe that cooks all the components of the meal at the same time, as this one does. I had large chicken breast fillets so halved the thickness first then cut into 4 pieces. They were beautifully moist cooked this way and the family loved the hint of lemon and ginger. A lovely recipe, thank you.  tmrc_emoticons.)

I loved the taste but I found I had to cook the chicken for a lot longer! Am I doing something wrong?

Simple healthy tasty dinner. I served on platter with green veg layer and chicken pieces on top.  Added chopped fresh chilli to the sauce for some spice. Yum.

I made this tonight for my sister that can't eat any fat and we all loved it.  So easy to cook and healthy and full of flavour!  The only thing I changed was I use soy sauce instead of oyster sauce.
