  • 4 carrot
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • 1 leek, white and green parts
  • 6 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 20 grams olive oil
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 800 grams Beef mince
  • 170 grams tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 100 grams water
  • 1 can Corn, drained (400g can)
  • 400 grams frozen peas
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, ground, to taste

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place carrots in Tmx bowl. Grate 3 secs/speed 5. Transfer to bowl & set aside.
  2. Place onions, leek & garlic in Tmx bowl. Chop 3 secs/speed 5. Scrape down sides. Add paprika. Saute 5 min/120°C/speed 2
  3. Add beef mince. Break up with spatula. Cook 5 min/120°C/reverse/speed 1.
  4. Add tomato paste, worcestershire sauce, drained corn, grated carrots, frozen peas & water & cook 15-20 min/120°C/reverse/speed 1, placing simmering basket instead of measuring cup onto mixing bowl lid, until mince is cooked.
  5. Taste & add salt & pepper to taste.
  6. Set aside half of the mince mixture to use in the shepherd’s pie later in the week. Keep in a sealed container in the fridge.
    Use the Lettuce leaves as the buns, when pulling apart try keep the leaves as a whole leaf to give you more room for the fillings.
