Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
Preheat oven to 180 degrees and greece a large loaf tin or two smaller ones.
Place bread in TM bowl and blitz on speed 7 for 5 seconds until fine bread crumbs. Remove and set aside.
Place onion in TM bowl and chop on speed 5 for 4 seconds.
Add remaining ingredients, including bread crumbs and mix on "Counter-clockwise operation" speed 2 for 1 min. You may need to use your spatular to help.
Press your meatloaf mix into the greeced loaf tin or tins and cook in the oven for 30 mins at 180 degrees.
Place all the BBQ sauce ingredients in the TM bowl and mix on speed 4 for 30 seconds.
Heat the sauce for 5 mins on speed 1 at varoma temperature.
Once your meatloaf has cooked for 30 mins, drain excess fat off the loaf. Then drizzle the sauce all over the top. Don't worry if you can't use all your sauce. I like to keep some by to drizzle over left overs the following day.
Place meatloaf back into the oven for another 45 mins.
Once cooked allow to cook slightly for 5 mins before serving. I like to serve this with a fresh salad and fries or mash potato.
This dish can be served hot or cold, so can be made in advance.
Enjoy.

This looks awesome! I'm looking for school lunchbox ideas. Would it work in muffin/mini loaf tins? How long would you cook for? It would be so nice and moist with the BBQ sauce. Could also slice for sandwiches.

Super. Thanks for converting.
Super. Thanks for converting. This was my favourite recipe pre thermie but I haven't worked out how to convert yet. I made as per instructions but halved the recipe and cooked for 20% less. Was very happy with it. Made plenty for us 2A 2C. I only had beef mince too so don't use lamb.
Oh how I love this recipe!

My kids inhaled this & asked for more - so that's all I need to add it to our regular list of meals.

This is almost identical to my meatloaf recipe, except in the sauce I use brown sugar. It's a delicious family favourite and I can't wait for my thermomix to arrive so I can make it with that for the first time!

This is our family recipe we have used for over 30 years and we absolutely love it. I use beef mince instead of lamb and omit the onion (no one in our family likes it). I always double the sauce as well as it is everyones favourite part.
The only trouble I had with this one was mixing the meat portion together. In the end I did it on speed 4 forwards to get all to combine.
Thank for converting to TM, saves me all the handling, mixing and stirring!

Sorry for not replying
Sorry for not replying earlier - the meat just gets mixed with all the ingredients in the Thermomix, then gets cooked in the oven! Hope this helps.
