Medium GOAT/BEEF CURRY

Full Ingredients List

  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 cm ginger
  • 4-8 to taste Large dried chilli
  • 2 Brown onions, quartered
  • 45 grams Butter
  • 3 tablespoons curry powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon tumeric ground
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon gram masala
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons seeded mustard
  • 1 tablespoons rice malt syrup, optional
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons white vinager
  • 800 grams Cubed goat/rump steak
  • 400 grams Tinned Crushed Tomatoes, OR you can use fresh tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons TMX Meat Stock
  • 20-30 leaves thai basil, To taste
  • 3 potatoes cubed
  • 100-200 grams natural yoghurt, To taste

Recipe's preparation

  1. Put Garlic, Ginger and Chilli into bowl 5 sec / speed 7


    Add Quartered Onion 5 sec / speed 7


    Scrape down sides of bowl


    Add Butter and Saute 3 min / 100 deg / speed 1


    Add Curry Powder, Tumeric, cinnamon, gram masala and seeded mustard


    saute 2 min / 100 deg / speed 1


    Add malt rice syrup (optional) and vinager mix 5 sec / speed 3


    Add goat or beef, tomatoes and stock. Cook 20 min / 100 deg / Counter-clockwise operation 1 or less


    Add potatoes and Thai Basil, Cook 20 min / 100 deg / Counter-clockwise operation 1 or less


    Add cream and cook 1 min / 100 deg / Counter-clockwise operation 1 or less


    Check your meat to see if it is soft and falling apart. Depending on your cut of meat it could take up to another 40 min approx. Alter to suit.


    10-40 min / 100 deg / Counter-clockwise operation or less


    Pour into Thermo Server to keep warm.


    Serve with Mashed Potato, Pasta or Rice.

  • When you get to the point of

    When you get to the point of adding the vinegar(also added I teaspoon sugar instead of the syrup) after mixing I then marinated the goat for 2 hours( you could do this overnight.)

    i then followed next step,instead of the long cook in the thermomix I added to a slow cooker with the potatoes and 2 carrots in pieces and cooked for 6-7 hrs or till falls of the bone,served with yogurt and spinach.

    Beautiful flavor in this recipe
