  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 30 g fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper

Peanut Sauce

  • 20 g olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 birds eye chillies
  • 80 g unsalted roasted peanuts

  • 20 g fish sauce
  • 20 g palm sugar

Recipe's preparation

    Vietnamese Minced Pork Skewers
  1. Add rice to TM bowl and dry roast for 3 minutes on Varoma temperature on speed 1.  Then mill rice for 1.5 minutes on speed 9.  Set aside.

Mince cubed pork for approx 10 seconds on speed 8 (until fine).  Set aside with rice flour.

Add palm sugar, garlic and spring onion to TM bowl and chop for 10 seconds on speed 10

Combine remaining ingredients in TM bowl and mix for 6 seconds on reverse speed 4.  Scrape ingredients out of TM bowl and (with wet hands) roll them into teaspoon size balls.  Set aside in fridge for about 30 minutes then thread on wooden skewers – 3 to a skewer and try to squash them to the skewer so they aren’t perfectly round.

Grill or BBQ until nicely browned then serve with peanut sauce.  Pork skewers go beautifully with Vietnamese rice paper rolls or Asian style coleslaw (please see my Vietnamese Chicken & Cabbage Salad for an example).

  2. Peanut Sauce
  3. Place palm sugar, garlic and chilli in TM bowl and chop for 10 seconds on speed 10.  Scrape down sides.  Add oil and sauté for 2 minutes on 100o speed soft.

Add peanuts and chop for 8 seconds on speed 5. Add remaining sauce ingredients then cook for 12 minutes on 100o speed 3

Ensure you soak (x 10) skewers in water for at least one hour beforehand (so skewers don’t burn)

Fantastic recipe that was tasty enough for all the family. I steamed rice in Thermy and cooked veg in the Varoma while the meatballs were cooking. Thanks for sharing!

    Delicious Regards,

I found this recipe tonight & thought I'd give it a go.....OMG.... Simply delicious.

However, I chopped my peanuts for triple the time as I found there were still halved peanuts in my bowl at the end of the first two attempts.  After the 3rd time, my sauce came out very much like an authentic Thai peanut sauce still with lots of bits.

This is going to be on our favourites list & a fortnightly meal in our house.

I served this with saute'd cabbage & my hubby loved it.... Thank you....

This was great. I omitted the water and just used a whole can of coconut milk. I also didn't have Tamarind paste so just used some lemon juice and a bit of extra sugar.

    Delicious!! Especially with your salad.

I forgot to buy rice - so just toasted 40g of rice flour in the thermie for abouat 4min Varoma Speed 1 - and it took any raw flavour out.

These are the best!!!  So easy to make I even had my 10 year old son making them.  The flavour in  meatballs & sauce is just a nice mixture, not overpowering but adding some taste to a lovely meal.  Will be making these again for sure.

  • Really easy and really yum!

    Submitted by Liz Chin-Seet on 8. June 2013 - 22:14.

Really easy and really yum! Authentic taste, will do again as my family loved it. My peanuts were stale so I used 100% organic peanut butter and it was great. But will use whole peanuts next time as I prefer a bit more texture in my sauce. Served with steamed rice and stirfry veggies (all done in the TM). Enough for my family of four who are big eaters. Thanks HappyHinks!
