Creamy Spaghetti Carbonara

  • 100 grams cheese, Cheddar or Parmesan
  • 60 grams onion quartered
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 200 grams bacon, Chopped
  • 15 grams olive oil
  • 30 grams Butter
  • 20 grams plain flour
  • 200 grams cream
  • 250 grams spaghetti

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Creamy Spaghetti Carbonara
  1. Cut cheese into cubes and place in bowl and chop 9 seconds, speed 8. Put aside.

    Rinse bowl. Place onion and garlic in bowl, chop 3 seconds. speed 6.

    Scrape down sides of bowl and add bacon and 15g oil, cook 5 min, Varoma, speed soft on reverse.

    Add butter for 5 min, Varoma, speed 1 on reverse.

    Add flour and cook 2 min, 100d, speed 1 on reverse.

    Over 2 min, 100d, speed 1 on reverse, gradually add 150g of cream.

    Add cheese and 50g cream and cook 6 min, 100d, speed 1 on reverse.

    Add to thermoserver.

  2. Pasta:

    Rinse bowl. Place 1000g of water in bowl and add pasta and cook for 12-15 min (depending on how you like your pasta) 100d, speed soft on reverse. 

    Drain pasta, add to thermoserve and let it soak up the sause for 5 min before serving.

    I found this really cheesy ( like melted cheese) and a bit oily. Next time omit the oil. Add egg yolk and baby spinach to cut through the cheese
