Fit Carbonara Sauce

Ingredients

Sauce

  • 50 grams parmesan, cubed
  • 1 onion, peeled, halved
  • 150 grams Bacon rasher, short cut rindless
  • 10 grams olice oil
  • cracked pepper, to taste
  • 1 can evaporative milk, 375ml Light and Creamy
  • 1 egg, beaten

Recipe's preparation

  1. Grate parmesan 5 sec/sp 9 and set aside 

  2. Chop bacon 4 sec/sp5 set aside

  3. Chop onion 4 sec/sp4, scrape down sides

  4. Put bacon into bowl, add some cracked pepper

  5. Add olive oil, sauté 3min/varoma/sp1, MC off

  6. Add can of light and creamy evap milk and parmesan

  7. Cook for 20mins/90c/Counter-clockwise operation/Gentle stir setting with MC off 

  8. Cook pasta of your choice in saucepan

  9. Last 2 mins put MC on and pour beaten egg on mixing bowl lid gradually to stop curdling

  10. Place pasta into thermoserver and pour sauce over the top and mix

    A fail for me... Not sure what I did wrong, but sauce didn't thicken up at all. I also think I prefer my back crispy so might fry this up in a pan separately next time.

  • I've always added cornflour

    I've always added cornflour to my carnation milk to thicken it. I was surprised I didn't need it for this recipe. An absolute winner!

    Made this tonight, tasted great! Added some broccoli to the pasta a couple of minutes before it finished to add some extra nutrients tmrc_emoticons.)

    Feeding two hungry boys and husband, made easier with my thermie!
