      Recipe is created for
      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

  • I made this and it was delicious. So delicious in...

    Submitted by AlBada'a4Life on 9. March 2017 - 22:09.

I made this and it was delicious. So delicious in fact that it didn't last very long at all. Didn't use as much much vinegar as stated but then I usually use these recipes as guides rather than gospel. Thank you for contributing the recipe and please don't be shut down by the astounding self-righteous pettiness of others. It's interesting/disappointing how seriously some people take themselves.

  • No Bec, thermofun hasn't been

    Submitted by thermosimsa on 24. February 2015 - 15:06.

No Bec, thermofun hasn't been involved in the bullying at all, it's other people that have no interest in this what soever that are commenting without trying the recipe, pm'ing me here and on FB obviously out to hurt people as I have no other idea why they would need to get involved.  For your information, I actually played with 4 recipes, the one on RC (which seems to have been around a long time before thermofun, which in hindsight should have cloned), thermofun, superkitchen machine and a non-thermomix one that friend emailed me. This is certainly not a "copy and paste" as has been alleged.

  • I'm sorry but are you

    Submitted by BeccTB on 24. February 2015 - 14:08.

I'm sorry but are you implying that someone asking you to cite the original source of this recipe (thermofun.com just in case anyone's wondering) as bullying?

i don't condone bullying but surely rectifying this VERY reasonable (and lawful) oversight would resolve this issue. Perhaps then your followers with questions could ask the creator of the recipe and have their issues resolved immediately (you know, because she designed it).

win win if you ask me.

  • Hi Cacher12, Sorry, I have

    Submitted by thermosimsa on 24. February 2015 - 10:33.

Hi Cacher12, Sorry, I have been dealing with bullying and wasn't getting notifications. I have changed the recipe slightly and left the last cook step as optional.  I always use frozen bacon so I think maybe mine is more liquid due to that, I have made this 6 times with no dryness.

  • Too dry and thick. Original

    Submitted by Fran44 on 23. February 2015 - 09:53.

Too dry and thick. Original recipe must have been slightly different because it was divine. A friend gave me a jar in November and I decided to make my own. Spotted this recipe, looks very similar to what she said was in it,  but this one is very thick and chunky and dry, sorry. I am giving it 1 star because the idea is good but just not this particular version.

  • If you have a problem Blusa,

    Submitted by thermosimsa on 20. February 2015 - 17:34.

If you have a problem Blusa, please report it to the recipe community as I prefer not to be harassed and bullied (I have also had 2 bullying PMs much the same) over sharing a recipe.

  • Whoa! Apart from the addition

    Submitted by Blusa on 20. February 2015 - 15:51.

    Whoa!

Apart from the addition of Worcestershire sauce and the omission of cinnamon - and that's it's cooked in a TM5 - that's pretty darn similar to a bacon jam recipe that's been around by Leonie of ThermoFun since October last year and that I have been using and tweaking successfully.

Admiration and adapting is okay - but plagiarism isn't.

It really would have been respectful to acknowledge your sources and inspiration.

I guess this is why I rarely come into the RC. I find plagiarism despicable and I see it everywhere in here.

  • Yummy but mine came out too

    Submitted by J4nelle on 15. February 2015 - 11:59.

Yummy but mine came out too thick and the bacon pieces hadn't changed size at all so they were over an inch big. I turbo'd it. It was also too thick so I added water. I was also expecting it to make more than 1 small jar but that was all I got - next time I'll double it

Did as per recipe but ended up quite thick/dry, not sure where my liquid went... Still very yummy though. It's on all our hotdogs now.
