Cashew Cheese

Cheese Base

  • 450 gram Cashews, Soaked in water 12 hrs
  • 3 capsules probiotic powder
  • 2 tablespoon Nutritional Yeast Flakes
  • 200 grams filtered water
  • Pepper corns or nuts, Mixed & course cracked -For garnish

      Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. Strain and rinse cashews


  2. Place all ingredients (except garnish) in  Thermomix bowl.  Blend for 2 minute on speed 6 - until smooth and creamy


  3. Line a sieve with a double thickness of cheesecloth and place over bowl. Drap remaining cloth over the top. Cover with a towel and leave to ripen for 12 hrs



  4. Transfer (with cloth) to cheese mould and dehydrate for futher 12 hours on temp 40-45 degrees celcius


  5. Remove from cloth and garnish with herbs, peppercorns or nuts by pressing them gently but firmly into the rind
