If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
Chop onions 3 sec speed 5 in several batches-putting each batch aside.
Then put all back into the thermomix bowl.
Add cumin, coriander seeds and vinegar.
Cook 30 minutes Varoma"Counter-clockwise operation" speed 2 mc off.
Add sugar and cook 1 hour 100 deg"Counter-clockwise operation" mc off and basket on.
You may cook longer if you want to reduce more.
Fill into sterilized jars.
Keeps indefinitely in refrigerator.
Great with a steak, a salad or on a cheese platter
