      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Cut vanilla beans into 2-3 pieces each. Mill in Thermomix speed 9 for 30 seconds, scrape side with a rubber spatula and repeat.

    Add sugar and mill on speed 9 for 10 seconds. Scrape down sides.

    Add water and cook at 100 speed 1 for 15min mc off. You want the liquid to reduce.

    Wait until the paste is completely cool and blend at speed 8 for 20 seconds, scrape and repeat.

    Pour into a glass jar with a secure lid.

    Makes 170grams

    I used the Vanilla Beans which I used twice for making Vanilla essence I doubled this recipe and found that even thou I put 20mls less water as Beans were soaked it took an extra 25 min to reduce it, but am very happy with the outcome
