If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Polenta
  1. Blitz cubed parmesan 10 seconds/speed 9. Remove and set aside

  2. Add all other ingredients 15 minutes/100 degrees/speed 3. Use whatever ratio you prefer of milk and water. I tend to do 250ml milk and 750ml water. Its creamy enough. But you could do 50/50 or even all water if you like.

  3. Add parmesan 1 minute/100 degrees/speed 3. Serve immediately with your favourite caserole or stew.

Tip

Pour leftovers in a container and refrigerate. Once set, cut into preferred sizes and grill on both sides until brown. Serve as a side on place of chips, mash etc. Cover a pan in oil. Gently bake on one side until they become unstuck- don't try to flip them early!! Once they are cooked on one side- THEY WILL lift off the pan-then flip! Enjoy

You used the Chickpea water? did it impart any flavour? i am very curious. Thank you Ros
This recipe is very tasty and satisfying, plus it used up some vege stock concentrate and the water from when I cooked up some dried chickpeas yesterday. Yum!

Hi, im not sure if it can be increased. I think the max for the bowl is 2L, so you wouldn't want to double it. Though you could do 150% im sure.

great recipe. It's lovely and creamy fresh out of the thermomix or set in a tray, sliced then pan fried. I even used it for camping by slicing it and freezing b/w baking sheet paper and pan frying it at the campsite as a quick side dish.

  • We don't use polenta very

    Submitted by JeffnJulie on 20. December 2015 - 09:46.

We don't use polenta very often however this recipe was very easy and surprisingly tasty as a side dish. We used it immediately as per the recipe which was just as well as the polenta left in the bowl did start to set making it a bit hard to clean the bowl. We'll try adding water to the bowl as soon as we serve it next time. Thanks for the recipe.
