Recipe's preparation
Add onion, garlic and bacon to Thermomix bowl. Chop 4 secs / sp 5. Scrape down edges and add olive oil and curry powder (you could use more if you like). Saute 3 mins / Varoma temp / Sp 1.
Add pumpkin, potato and up to 500g of water (don't go over the maximum level on the jug!). Don't worry if it looks like there isn't enough liquid added as a lot of liquid will come out of the vegetables while cooking!) Add stock concentrate and cook 25-30 mins / 100° / Sp 1.
SLOWLY turn the speed dial up to Sp 4 until balanced and no longer vibrating. Once settled, slowly turn speed dial up to Sp 9 / 1 min. Add cream and combine 5 secs / sp 4. Pour into Thermoserver and top with chopped chives. Enjoy with crusty bread.

Tip
I have been making this soup for years and recently converted it to Thermomix language... the thing I love most is how silky smooth it becomes after being blitzed in the Thermomix. Heaven... CAUTION: Please ensure that the jug is not overly filled (anything above the 2 litre mark can cause serious burns when you are blitzing the soup smooth)

OMG. The best. It was so nice. I overdid the stock paste......and it was too salty. So don't do what I did.

Made a double batch (separately) tonight to stock the freezer. It's delicious, made as is with no changes (unusual for me) but glad I did.

This soup is AH-MAY-ZING!! My husband isn't a fan of soup but he'll happily eat this one. Tried it once with butternut and didn't enjoy it as much. I always use Kent or jarrahdale and it's absolutely delicious. Perfect for the freezer, still tastes just as amazing as when it's fresh and is perfect for a simple, healthy lunch or dinner. I'm genuinely sad when I remove the last serve of it from the freezer. Can't recommend this recipe enough.

Used butternut pumpkin, skin on, seeds off. No curry, no bacon but added 'Mingle' - Sofia chilli seasoning and Vegeta in place of vegetable stock . Sauted onion on stove top for second batch which tasted better than the first batch. One batch not enough for our family. Thank you for making this so much easier than using the stove top.
Delicious pumpkin soup, the best recipe I have...
Delicious pumpkin soup, the best recipe I have come across so far. Love that I can leave the skin on (was hesitant to leave the seeds in so that got taken out). Only used 300g of water as I do like a thicker style of soup, and did not bother with cream or milk. I used about 200g of bacon as it was leftover from another recipe. Probably because I used extra bacon and the same amount of vegetable stock paste, it was slightly over salted for my tastes, so next time if i use extra bacon, I would only put 1 tablespoon of stock paste. Delicious with buttered toasted turkish bread!

I'm sorry for not seeing your question (it would be great if Thermomix headoffice sent us an email when there was a question.) When you start blitzing a hot soup which has chunky bits in it to start with, you will find that it shakes around a bit but increase the speed one number at a time for about 5 seconds in between increasing the speed. You'll find that it finds its balance and settles down as you increase the speed. It takes less than 1 minute to blitz your soup completely. It's lovely. Good luck.

approx how long should it take when you are on speed 3 for the beginning of the blending before it stops shaking? Ive waited about 5 minutes and am scared to turn it up higher as its still shaking a bit ?
