You can use red or white quinoa. When rinsing your Quinoa try lining the steamer basket with a new clean chux cloth or muslin cloth so you do not loose any through the holes.

Delicious. Really enjoyed this. I also used zucchini instead of celery as that's what I had in the fridge. And a pinch of chilli powder rather than fresh chilli. I had cooked a big batch of chickpeas so I used 1.5 cups of those instead of a tin of chickpeas.

This was delicious! I used fresh tomatoes, added a carrot for more vegies and halved the amount of water to make it a thick soup perfect for a cold day!

  • Turned out perfectly even

    Submitted by ardijo on 16. March 2015 - 18:26.

Turned out perfectly even though I forgot to rinse the quinoa and I substituted zucchini because I didn't have celery. I also blended it at the end because I used very ripe tomatoes cut in to quarters. I blended it slowly from speed 1-8 over about thirty seconds. When using fresh tomatoes I actually put about 650g of water because the tomatoes filled up the jug so much. totally awesome recipe!!!!!

  • Fantastic.  Thanks for

    Submitted by bjajun on 24. June 2014 - 07:31.

Fantastic.  Thanks for sharing.  I didn't have any celery in the fridge, so used an extra onion.  Also didn't have fresh chilli so put in 1/2 tspn dried chilli flakes which worked beautfifully.   Will probably add some carrots & the celery next time for a bit more nutrition.
