Ingredients

Apple sauce cake (egg free, dairy free)

  • 200 grams raw sugar
  • 375 grams plain flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons bicarb soda
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp all spice
  • 80 grams oil
  • 100 grams water, (or milk)
  • 375g jar Applesauce, I used Woolworths brand
  • icing sugar for dusting, optional

Recipe's preparation

    Prep
  1. Preheat the oven to 180C. Grease and line a large slice tin or a 23-26 cm round or square tin.

    1. Blitz sugar on Turbo, 2 or 3 times.

    2. Add remaining ingredients and blend sp4.5/30 seconds. Scrape. Repeat 15 secs.

    3. Scrape into baking pan and bake for app 35-45 minutes, or until cooked when tested.

    4. Cool and dust with icing sugar (optional)
