Chewy Anzac Biscuits

Ingredients

24 portion(s)

  • 125 grams Butter
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon Bi-carb soda
  • 155 grams brown sugar
  • 85 grams desicated cocnut
  • 90 grams rolled oats
  • 150 grams plain flour

Recipe's preparation

    Pre heat oven 160 degrees Line 2 baking trays
  1. 1. Place butter, water and golden syrup in TM bowl.


    100 deg/1min/spd2.


    2. Add Bi-carb soda, mix on Spd 2 approx 30 sec till dissolved.


    3. Add remaining ingredients, flour, sugar, oats coconut.


    Mix Sp2 approx 20 sec, scrape down sides, mix again for another 10 sec.


    4. Spoon heaped tsp size mixture, roll in to balls and place on lined tray. Flatten with a fork a little.


    5. Bake approx 10-12 mins or until golden brown,but still soft to touch.


    6. Let stand on trays for 5 mins before transferring to wire rack to cool


    7. Enjoy Smile

    My mixture is really crumbly.. I add more butter and they roll into a ball but when I flatten with a fork they turn to crumbs. Not sure what I did wrong. Let’s hope they cook ok.

    Good. I took only 6 of them to a function. I rolled them into balls, and they were all gone in a flash. But for my oven you needed to cook them a bit longer. Next time I will reduce sugar because I only had the Uncle Toby’s breakfast oats to use and they were sweet enough. Actually I was eating them at the start, even before they were cooked

    I have just made them using a teaspoon heaped measurement and there is no chance that they were ever going to be that big! lol
    waiting for them to cool.....

    This receipe is perfect. Follow it to a T. I piled out 1 tablespoon and ended up making an anzac pizza. Still delicious Quick easy receipe.

    I made 3 batches of this recipe as I had trialled different recipes and the kids chose this one. I preferred the consistency of more oats (they can then be formed/pressed on the tray rather than just melt to shape) and used 120gm in total.

    Turned out perfectly. I swapped the golden syrup for honey (+ an extra tablespoon) and the sugar for maple syrup as my family is off refined sugar. I did add about 40gram's of extra oats. But with the changes they turned out great!
