Chocolate Biscuit Slice

Slice base

  • 250 grams Milk arrowroot biscuits
  • 110 grams raw sugar
  • 125 grams Butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla esence
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 egg

  • 200 grams raw sugar
  • 10 grams cocoa powder
  • 20 grams Butter
  • 15 grams hot water

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Method
  1. Place biscuits in to bowl and process on speed 5 for 5 seconds. Transfer into a bowl and set aside.

  2. Place 110g raw sugar into bowl and process on speed 10 for 6 secconds. 

  3. Add 125g butter cut into cubes, cocoa powder and vanilla essence. Process on speed 5 for 5 seconds. 

  4. Melt butter mixture at 80 degrees on speed 1 for 3 minutes. Scrape mixture off blades.

  5. Add the egg and mix at 80 degrees on speed 3 for 2 minutes, to thicken the mixture.

  6. Add the crushed biscuits and mix on reverse on speed 3 for 10 seconds.

  7. Place mixture into prepared slice tray and spread out evenly.

  8. Icing
  9. Place raw sugar into mixing bowl and process on speed 10 for 20 seconds. 

  10. Add cocoa powder, butter and hot water. Mix on speed 5 for 10 seconds. Check consistency as you may need to add more warer.

  11. Spread icing onto top of slice and decorate with your favourite topping, sprinkles, nuts, desecated coconut.

  12. Place the slice in the fridge for 30 minutes or the freezer for 10 minutes or until firm to touch. Turn out onto a board and cut into pieces. Enjoy.
