Chocolate Cake

  • 330 g raw sugar
  • 185 g butter (TM)
  • 2 tsp Vanilla (paste or essence)
  • 3 eggs
  • 80 g Self Raising Flour
  • 220 g plain flour
  • 5 g Bi Carb Soda
  • 90 g cocoa powder
  • 280 g buttermilk

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 180'c. 

    Grease a 20 cm round cake pan and line base with baking paper. (a springform paan also workds well)

     

  2. Mill raw sugar for 3 seconds speed 9

    Add butter and mix 40 seconds speed 5-6

    Add vanilla. Set to speed 5 and crack eggs one at a time into MC and add to bowl. Ensuring a good 10 secs between each addition.

    Add flours, bi carb and cocoa powder.

    Add buttermilk

    Set dial to closed lid Closed lid and interval speed Dough mode for 1 minute.

    Check to see ingrediants are just combined.

    If needed mix for 20 secs speed 5.

  3. Scrape mixture into prepared tin and smooth surface with spatula

    Bake for 1 hour 15 mins. or until skwer comes out clean

  4. Leave cake to cool in tin for at least 5 minutes before turning out onto cooling rack.

    Once cool, ice with your favourite icing.

Any size cake tin can be used, however cooking time may vary. Start with 1 hour and check.
