Easy Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

Cake Mix

  • 125 g Butter, cubed
  • 230 g Self Raising Flour
  • 250 g sugar
  • 10 g cocoa
  • 130 g Milk
  • 5 g Vanilla Essence/ Extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 pinch salt

Recipe's preparation

    Cake Mix
  1. Line and grease a 23cm Springform pan with baking paper and spray oil.

     

  2. Melt butter at 50 degrees on speed 1 for 2 mins

     

  3. Add all other ingredients and mix on speeed 6 for 30 seconds

     

  4. Pour mixture into a prepared 23cm springform pan and bake in a moderate (160 degree) oven for 35 - 40 Minutes or until skewer comes out clean.

     

  5. Once cooled use your favourite icing. It is really nice with Chocolate Ganache.

    This is now my go to receipe for chocolate cake. It is so easy and everyone loves it. Big Smile I do double the cocoa though

    A beautiful, easy cake. Nice and light too. I don't think this is really a chocolate cake though. The cocoa adds colour but not too much chocolate flavour. It is more a vanilla cake with a chocolate cake colour.
