  • 100 g Butter
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 2 eggs
  • 120 g raw sugar
  • 350 g Edmonds standard flour
  • 1 tbsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp Edmonds baking soda
  • 220 g natural unsweetened yoghurt

      Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. Pre-heat oven 180 degrees and grease and line a 22cm loaf tin.

     

    Place butter and syrup into TM bowl, put lid with MC on - melt 4 mins / 40 degrees / spd 1

     

  2. Add sugar and eggs to TM bowl - beat 2 mins / spd 4

     

  3. Add flour, salt, ginger and cinnamon - mix 20 sec / spd 3

     

  4. Place a separate bowl on the TM lid and measure in the yoghurt.  Mix the baking soda into the yoghurt

     

  5. Put yogurt and baking soda mix into the TM bowl, add sultanas - mix Counter-clockwise operation / 30 sec / spd 4 until completely combined. You may need to use your spatular to help a bit.

     

  6. Pour mixture into prepared loaf tin.  Bake in the oven for 40-45 mins.

    Once cooked, allow to cool in the tin for 10 mins before turning out onto a wire rack.
