Family ANZAC biscuit recipe

  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 teaspoon bicarb soda
  • 125 grams plain flour (1 cup)
  • 155 grams Brown Sugar (1cup)
  • 90 grams rolled oats (1cup)
  • 45 grams Desicated coconut (1/2 cup)

    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees and line tray with baking paper

    Add chopped butter to bowl, melt for 2 min, 60 deg, speed 2 (increase time if butter is not melted at 2 minute mark)

    Add golden syrup, mix for 10 seconds on speed 2

    Combine bicarb soda and water then add to butter/golden syrup, mix for 10 seconds on speed 2

    Add oats, flour, brown sugar and coconut mix for one minute on Dough mode

    Roll into balls and bake for 14-18 minutes

    The longer you leave the biscuits on the tray the crunchier they will be so for soft cookies move on to a drying rack or plate once set, for very crunchy cookies let them cool completely on tray.

    Great flavour but found they didn't spread like Anzacs so will next time add the bi-carb to the water then add to the butter mix...will make again though thank you
