Recipe is created for
TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
In a large pot with a lid, heat the butter on high heat until sizzling, make sure the bottom is covered. Add the popcorn kernels, and using a tea towel, swirl the pot occasionally to move the kernels around, then put the pot back on the heat. When the popcorn starts popping, move off the heat for 30 seconds, then put back on until you no longer hear the popping sound. Put popcorn in a large bowl straight away and set aside.
Weigh in the pitted dates (200g) and chop, speed 7, 30 seconds "Closed lid" . Scrape down the sides of the bowl, add the coconut oil, salt crystals and heat 1 minute, speed 2, temp 70° "Closed lid" . The date and coconut mixture will separate, this is fine. Measure out 4 cups of the pre-cooked popcorn into a large, deep square cake/ slice tin (25-30cm) Using the spatula, scrape the date mixture out onto the popcorn. Work through the popcorn with your hands in clumps, until it starts coming together. This process takes a while, but it is worth it! When the mixture is thoroughly combined with the popcorn, press it down firm into the tin and let set in the fridge for a minimum of two hours. Slice into square, enjoy!
