Made this orange cake a couple of weeks ago and it was so yummy! Everyone said how moist it was.
I put half of it in the freezer, and tonight I cut a couple of wedges off, thawed it, then warmed it in the microwave for dessert. We had it with hot custard, icecream and peaches! It was one of the nicest desserts I've made.

This is one of the best orange cake recipes....and in my favourites. Made it with coconut flour for GF friends......also turned out delicious (check rations for coconut flour, you need much less than plain flour). Thanks 🙏

The flavour of this is beautiful. I have a TM6 and I think I will need to stir and not blend the flour, eggs for 30 seconds instead of blend like I did. The cake is very dense not light and fluffy. Any comments on this would be helpful as I'm a newbie.

    Submitted by GailGaden on 9. June 2021 - 17:34.

This cake is so nice and light, I substituted 25gms of orange juice and 25gms milk in replace of 50gms milk.
I made in a ring tin as I prefer cause I always maintain the cooking is more even.

    Really nice orange cake
I added half orange juice and half milk for the liquid

I milled icing sugar instead of raw or regular sugar as I have also found in the past that 10 seconds gives a grainy icing

    I will make this again

10 seconds is nowhere near long enough to mill the sugar for, so we had crunchy icing.
Cake itself is ok, but certainly not the best orange cake I've come across on here.

So nice my son was tucking into it before I had even had a chance to ice it.  He said not to worry about icing the rest of it as it was nice by itself.  Thanks for a great recipe.

Delicious!! Only had a little bit of unsalted butter left so used some salted butter as well. Poured orange syrup over once cooked and still hot...result = mmmmm so moist and soft and full of flavour. Used a blood orange this time but it will definitely become a favourite recipe

  • Great recipe, wonderful moist

    Submitted by Peabeswick on 8. February 2014 - 19:43.

Great recipe, wonderful moist & yummy cake! Loved the tip to stop it getting too brown (put the thermomat over the top).  Thank you. I teamed it with chocolate frosting (from edcb) because I have lots of dark chocolate in the cupboard. Added 1/2 an orange rind whilst milling the sugar to make choc orange frosting. Delish.
