  • 300 g plain flour
  • 1 level teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 20 g orange peel from 1 orange
  • 170 g Dates pitted
  • 90 g raw sugar
  • 40 g Butter
  • 250 g hot water
  • 1 egg
  • 2 level teaspoons Vanilla essence.
  • 4 level teaspoons Baking Powder.

Recipe's preparation

    Grease a 14cmx 21cm Loaf Pan and Line with baking paper, oven to 180c
  1. 1. Place Flour, Soda, Sugar and Baking Powder in Bowl, sp4 10sec, put aside.

    2. Blitz orange peel sp8 3 sec

    3. Add dates turbo 2/3 times

    4. Add boiling water, butter, flour mixture and egg Sp4 20sec.

    5. Pour batter into prepared loaf tin and bake for 40mins. Depending on your oven you may find you need to turn down the temp to 160C after 25 mins.

Tip

As the water is hot add the egg last or it will start cooking.
