  • 80 grams Shredded coconut

    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. Mill sugar to castor sugar 2 Seconds, Speed 9.

    Combine cornflour, coconut to sugar and mix well, 5-20 Seconds, Reverse, Speed 5-6

    Beat in egg and salt, mix well 5-20 Seconds, Reverse, Speed 5-6

    Place heaped tablespoonfuls of mixture on to lined tray, press mixture lightly into peaked macaroon shape. 

    Bake in moderate oven 180C 15 minutes or until light golden brown. 


    Remove from oven, loosen on trays immediately, allow to cool on trays.

Cook's notes

Oven temperatures are for conventional; if using fan-forced (convection), reduce the temperature by 20˚C.

We use Australian tablespoons and cups: 

1 teaspoon equals 5 ml; 

1 tablespoon equals 20 ml; 

1 cup equals 250 ml.

All herbs are fresh (unless specified) and cups are lightly packed.

All vegetables are medium size and peeled, unless specified. 

All eggs are 55-60 g, unless specified.

    Your ingredients don't include an egg but the instructions do, is it only 1 egg?
