Southern Pecan Butter Balls

      Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 200deg

    1 cup butter at room temp

    1/2 cup icing sugar

    2 t vanilla essence

    2 1/4 cups plain flour

    1/4 t salt

    3/4 c finely chopped and toasted pecan nuts

    Extra icing sugar for rolling


    1. Toast nuts whole at 200 set for 10 mins

    2. Chop in TM Bowl for 6 secs sp 8 put aside

    3. Cream butter I icing sugar vanilla on sp 4 3 mins

    4. Mix. In toasted nuts 30 secs sp 3

    5. Refrigerate 1hour

    6. Break into 2.58 cm balls

    7. Place on ungreased tray and cook for 15 - 20 mins until set but not brown

    8. Cool slightly and then toss in additional icing sugar.

    9. Allow to cool completely and then toss in icing sugar again,

    Store in airtight container
