Buttermilk, Cheddar and Chive Bread

Ingredients

8 slice(s)

  • 300 grams plain flour
  • 1.5 tsp Baking Powder.
  • 0.5 tsp Bicarbonate. Soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 80 grams Cheddar grated
  • 15 grams chives chopped
  • 40 grams Butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 225 grams buttermilk

Recipe's preparation

  1. Put flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, salt, cheddar and chives  into the bowl and mix on speed 4 for about 10 seconds until mixed. Set aside.

  2. Melt butter at 60, 2 minutes, speed 1 or until melted. Add mustard, buttermilk and egg. Whisk up on speed 6 for 5 seconds.

  3. Add dry ingredients to wet and mix until just combined on speed 4.

     

  4. Spoon sticky mixture into a greased loaf tin and bake for about 45 mins at 200 deg until a skewer comes out clean.

  5. Enjoy with butter, cheese, vegemite or avocado.

    another delicious bread! I made this to dip in tomato soup, I substituted chives for spring onion. Spot on thank you!
