You can use red apples for a sweeter mixture.

You could use rapadura sugar instead of brown sugar.

This was the second time I made this delicious crumble. Like previous comments, I had apples to use up and I doubled the quantities. It was even better then the first time. A go to desert with the TMX custard.

This was so delicious, I actually made the crumble topping first then cooked the apples, just means I didn't have to dry bowl.

Delish! I doubled the recipe and did it in a large dish. With vanilla custard we had enough for 4 adults, 5 kids and still a little bit leftover for a snack the next day. I used coconut sugar in place of the brown sugar.

Very tasty. I doubled the crumble mixture as I baked it in a dish not ramekins. Delicious served with vanilla custard from the TM5 basic cookbook.

  • My search for the perfect

    Submitted by sonlou on 17. October 2014 - 21:38.

My search for the perfect crumble is over! Excellent ingredient mix and amount for the topping. So easy to cook the apples in the Varoma too. I used 150g of frozen raspberries as that's all I had, still fine. Thanks for great recipe.
