Aunties Chocolate Pie

  • 175 grams white sugar
  • 50 grams Nestle' Baking Cocoa
  • 120 grams Corn Flour
  • 750 grams whole milk
  • 4 egg yolks, NO egg whites at all
  • 50 grams Butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Base
  1. Use any short crust pastry recipe, i prefer the Basic Cookbook recipe myself.
  2. Filling
  3. 1. Insert Butterfly whisk and add sugar, cocoa and corn flour. Counter-clockwise operationspeed 1 to mix.

    2. While still whisking add Milk. then set 9 minutes/Counter-clockwise operationspeed 2/ 100 degrees.

    3. Continue on Counter-clockwise operationspeed 2/ 5 minutes/ 80 degrees Add egg yolks, filling should be thickish custard consistency at the end of the 5 minutes.

    4. 2 minutes/Counter-clockwise operationspeed 2 Add butter and Vanilla.

    5. Pour filling into pasty shell, set aside to cool then place in fridge to set properly.
