  • 24 dates, de pitted
  • 1 Cup Almond meal
  • 1 cup protein powder, vanilla flavour
  • 1 cup Shredded Coconut
  • 2/3 cup cocoa
  • 4-6 pieces crystallised ginger, or naked ginger
  • 1 handful of pecans
  • 1 tablespoons honey if dry, I add it anyway
  • 2/3 Cup Coconut oil

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Place dates, nuts, and ginger into mixing bowl and chop 30 sec/speed 9/measure cup in place.

    2. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula

    3. Add rest of ingredients to bowl and chop 30-40sec/speed 7/measure cup in place. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula. Repeat chopping if necessary.

    4. Weigh out mixture and divide by 30. Should get approx 23 gram per ball.

    5. Form mixture into balls and coat with desicated coconut, cocoa or sesame seeds.

    6. Transfer into an airtight container and keep refrigerated.

Tip

Can use a variety of dried fruits. I often use dried figs (about 4 for this recipe and reduce dates to 18.
Try apricots instead of dates. May need to rehydrate them by soaking for 5-10 minutes in hot water, enough to cover.
