Tahini Fruit Balls

Ingredients

24 portion(s)

  • 60 grams raw almonds
  • 15 grams Linseeds
  • 20 grams sunflower seeds
  • 35 grams Desiccated Coconut
  • 130 grams mixed dried fruits (sultanas, cranberries, apricots), eg:fresh dates, dried pears,peaches
  • 100 grams honey
  • 120 grams light tahini, (can use regular tahini)

Recipe's preparation

  1. Chop almonds on speed 8 for 2-3 secs.

  2. Add seeds, coconut and dried fruits to the almonds and chop  for a further 3 secs on speed 8.

  3. Add honey and tahini to the mixture and blend on speed 6 until a thick paste is achieved.  (Use more coconut if necessary to give the required texture.)

  4. Shape teaspoonfuls of mixture into balls and roll in extra coconut.

Tip

Other dried fruits can be subsituted, but if they are really sweet (eg dried apricots) then you may not need so much honey.  I like to keep mine in the fridge.

These are great for a tasty and healthy snack that is high in calcium.

    I loved these, I used a bit of all the dried fruit I had (apricots, cranberries, sultanas, sour cherries) and I rolled them in sesame seeds

    I made these today and they are delicious.. I used sultanas and apricots as my fruit. Might use less honey next time though..

    These were very yummy - I made them with dates, sultanas and 30g dried apricots so as suggested I probably could have dropped the honey a little but still very nice!
