Yum! I've been having the store bought chai latte mix in the morning to cut down my coffee and decided to try this once I'd run out. It's a much more subtle flavour which I like. I used hot water, not milk as this is easiest for me and it was great.

    So good!

was surprised at how much I liked this given that I'd only ever had tea based chais.

i considered putting some black tea in but thought I'd try it first as I could have easily added tea later if I wanted and I now won't bother... It's delish as is!

    Submitted by Clara_b79 on 27. May 2015 - 23:54.

You could use skim milk powder and skim/reduced fat milk and maybe use a bit of honey to sweeten instead of putting sugar in the mix. Add the honey each time you make it.

Great result with half the sugar and may go even less next time.  This is terrific for when one needs a non-caffeine fix.   Thank you for this wonderful recipe.   As you have indicated, it can be tweaked for personal taste re intensity of spices.  I was a bit worried about the powdered milk, but truely the result is delicious!

    Submitted by Clara_b79 on 13. April 2015 - 15:37.

Thats a shame you didn't like it tmrc_emoticons.( depending on the spices you like you could add a tsp or two more of any of them and give it all another whizz to mix it together. I purposely didn't use tea as it is a chai latte like cafe style ones, with the spices giving the flavour, rather than a chai tea based on tea. I will look forward to hearing how it goes with the tea instead of milk.
