  • Dr.Oz green smoothie. Not bad. Will make again...

    Submitted by momoyeeyee on 10. August 2019 - 16:59.

Dr.Oz green smoothie. Not bad. Will make again with the addition of (frozen) banana.

I halved the recipe, omitted celery and lime. Used juice from 1/3 of lemon. Used 250ml of ice/water combo. After tasting, blended in an extra frozen banana (half a big one or 1 small one = 4 cubes). Then it tasted better. Final yield = 375ml. Next time I will try blending everything in 1 go instead of 2 steps (in step 2, I used mostly water and only a little ice, so should work)

    *** Update ***
used 250ml of water (you decide what temperature to suit your taste) and no ice and just blended everything in 1 combined step (1 min, sp Eight). Totally fine, same result as blending in 2 steps. So I will just do 1 step going forward, more convenient

  • So refreshing and uplifting

So refreshing and uplifting  Big Smile

I halved the the recipe and I ended up with just over one large glass-full.

I love the fresh tangy flavour so this will become a daily smoothie first thing in the morning.  I might find something to take over the celery though, not a huge fan of it and I can taste it in the smoothie, so I will do some experimenting, but otherwise it's super delicious tmrc_emoticons.)

  • Hi Elishia, Yes it will keep

Submitted by Thermomix in Australia on 3. April 2013 - 12:46.

    Hi Elishia,

Yes it will keep for half a day in the fridge but will be more nutritious if consumed straight away as the nutrients start to oxidise.

  • I just made this. but I don't

    Submitted by JenneAnne on 11. January 2013 - 14:33.

I just made this. but I don't have any ginger and the shops are too far away. So I just used 1 whole lemon and no lime and no ginger. I am sure there is a reason for the ginger and lime but it is still really nice and refreshing. I had it for lunch and then ate some nuts.

So do you all drink the whole lot? I have refridgerated the rest

What a great start to the day. My body will thank me for it. Saw this recipe years ago online and loved it now it's so much quicker and easier to make with the Thermomomix.  I think I'd better grow some more spinach! Thanks for converting and sharing.
